The last two weeks have been busy ones for PUA, doing some
final mixing for two dozen songs and gearing up to start playing
live in New England. I’ve also been making notes for some website
changes. Nothing major, just some tweaks. I’m adding a section
called “Props” that will house descriptions of women who I consider
influences. Also, I’ll be putting up some more photos, links to new
music, even pictures of a PUA computer case mod I’m working on.
All of this, of course, after we finish mixing the last of the music. I
have to start looking for live band members very very soon. Watching
an opinionated chick alone on stage, backed by playback, isn’t
particularly exciting and, while I can’t replace Tank and her valuable
guitar skills, I can try and replicate the dynamism of multiple performers.
I’m convinced that what makes a band successful is their ability to
play live. The music only counts for so much as it emanates from tiny
boombox speakers, that unnamable something that solidifies loyal
fans is the energy of the performance. That is my goal for 2004, make
PUA an electrifying live band.
